About my hair part 1: Dyeing

Hi! I wanted to write something about my hair. So, here it is. First I am starting with my hair dyeing journey, then I will say something about hair dyeing routine and tips.

This was me only two years ago. I've had still my natural hair back then.

When I got bored with my color I used henna to dye ends and a few streaks red. It wasn't natural henna, it had some chemicals in it, so it faded quite quickly. But I liked the idea of having colorful hair.

It was a first time when I bought hair toner in crazy color. It was Stargazer. I wanted to see if it affects my natural hair. well, the blue didn't come out, but once I was bored and decided to buy a bleach and use the rest of toner on ends. Unfortunately I don't have any photos, but it was a lovely turquoise. On the picture it's faded.

First time I've dyed my hair purple with La Riche Directions. I must say I liked it, but I bleached too little and it faded to light brown after a week...

This is my hair right now. Finally I learned how to bleach my hair and get the right color.

I dye my hair with La Riche Directions, purple mixed with violet. This dye is really nice, because it's in reasonable price, the color is vibrant and fades slowly. I redye my hair every 3 weeks or so. Unfortunately, I have to bleach my hair to really light blonde to get the right shade. It's because yellow and purple neutralize themselves and hair will fade to brown if not bleached enough.
I think using bleach is not that scary anyway unless you use it for too long or use too strong bleach or your hair is already pretty damaged. But if you are unsure It's better to go to hairstylist.

Toners are different than peroxide dyes, so you my want to know some info:

-Toners are vegan and don't damage your hair itself.
-You can mix them to get any shade you want.
-It smells like something between poster paint and conditioner so it's nice.
-The more bleached and dry hair, the better result.
-It stains. Everything. Be careful with your pillows and bright clothes!
-It may be hard to buy (at least in my country)

Here is how I dye my hair, step-by-step.

1. I bleach my hair to light blonde, then I wash my hair and wait until it's almost dry.
2. I put a greasy cream on my forehead, cheeks, ears and neck. It helps removing dye stains from skin.
3. I take gloves (it's important unless you want colorful hands for two days) and put toner in a bowl.
4. I sometimes add a little of conditioner to toner so hair will be softer after dyeing.
5. I put toner with brush on my hair and then spread it with hands. It's good to dye in small sections so you won't get patches.
6. I wrap hair in cap and wait. In instructions they recommend to wait 30 minutes, But I find it better to let the dye sit for hour or two.
7. I rinse my hair with cool water and apple cider vinegar. Why vinegar? Well, it closes the cuticles of hair so it's shinier and toner fades slowlier. Just pour a spoon of vinegar to 1 liter of pure water and rinse your hair with it.
8. Dry your hair and Voila! Pretty color.

I Hope you find it interesting and helpful. If you have any more questions about dyeing hair, feel free to ask!

Forever in space

May will be the most busy month for me. I am trying to plan my portfolio for recruitment, but I still wake up late and daydream too much. I hope I will not have too much time left for procrastinating because I really have a lot of things to do on my list. But I'm going to Cracow with my friends in two weeks so I consider it as a reward.

This photo is reaaaly bad, but it's still the best of those I have. Why it's so cloudy??

My new lovely necklace from Claire's

 Necklace: Claire's
Pantyhose: Calzedonia
Shoes: Vagabond

Anyway, I'm thinking about writing post about my hair. Should I write about care, dyeing or both? What do you think?

Song of the day:

Liebster Award

I've been nominated to Liebster Award! I would like to thank The Mutant Stomp Friends for nominating me. I love her fashion sense and informative posts. Her blog is a mine of inspirations!

The rules:

1. Post the award on your blog.
2. Thank the blogger who presented this award and link back to their blog.
3. Write 11 random facts about yourself.
4. Nominate 11 bloggers who you feel deserve this award and who have fewer than 200 followers.
5. Answer 11 questions posted by the presenter and ask your nominees 11 questions.

Random facts about me:

1. Despite the stereotype about goths hating hot weather or sun, I actually really like them. Winter makes me depressive. Holidays on tropical beach? Give me sunscreen and I'm in!
2. My hobby number 1. is drawing. I've been doing this pretty much since I was able to hold crayons.
3. My favorite pets are rats. I had a rat for the first time when I was 10. now I have one rat Szarotka. My 2 rats Zora and Nina passed away recently.
4. I used to learn playing violin 2 years ago. I've only had few classes so I only know very basics. I hope I can get back to learning in the future.
5. I love taste of licorice and I've heard that no one likes licorice. Is it true?
6. My favorite subject in school (not counting art) were english, biology and geography.
7. I am overly sensitive sometimes. I mean, if a movie has a moment when someone would cry, I will most likely cry. Same for books. Or maybe I just get attached easily to fictional characters...
8. I am not a fan of coffee, but I'm addicted to tea.
9. I'm a city person. I love forest, but I would never live in one. I like convenience of having lots of shops, cinema and restaurants close to home.
10. I can't sing too good, but I like doing it anyway.
11. I have a low pain tolerance. Despite this fact, needles are not scary for me.

1. What is the title of your biography?
Lost in Dreams sounds cool to me.

2. Is it an autobiography or did you get someone else to write it? If so, whom?
Writing it myself would be fun, I could improve my writing skills.

3. What's on the cover? If illustrated, who illustrated it?
On the cover there would be a girl with white eyes and flowing hair on graphic black and white background since it's closest to my style in art. With kind of surreal feeling. It would be illustrated by myself of course!

4. Seems your biography has some photos in it. What are they of?
Me, my home city, nature. Some mysterious, some in peaceful bright colors.

5. Hey, good news! Seems like someone important is providing a blurb quote for the cover. Who is it and what do they say about the book?
Well... I wish it was Neil Gaiman. I'm a big fan of his books. I just imagine he would say: ,,Interesting. Ironic, honest and inspiring story." If only...

6. What are some of the chapter names in the book?
-The beggining
-What's in the rabbit's hole?
-Silence before a storm

7. Your biography has an index. What's under the letter G?
Graduation, glorious, gothic, genesis. Yes I acutally took a dictionary too find words.

8. Who is thanked in the acknowledgments?
My family. They are the best!

9. What kind of a book is it? Photography monograph? A tell-all expose? Stream-of-consciousness word jazz? An academic monograph with multiple indexes, endnotes, bibliography, further reading, etc?
I'm not familiar with biographies, but maybe an expose... Something in which I would describe my life and feelings in a rather personal way.

10. Your readers are shocked to know that....
I used to be a shy and well-behaving child. (I still am... in some way...)

11.  For some reason your book's selling well in France. Why do you think that is?
Because I decribe my honeymoon in Paris. I really hope to make it reality in the future.
